Clara Akurugu’s journey is a shining example of resilience and determination. As a 25-year-old single mother of two, she faced numerous challenges after her divorce. However, her life took a dramatic turn when she was trained in plumbing at Lamashegu Technical Institute through the WEE-North program. Her hard work and dedication earned her a Workplace Experience Learning opportunity at Landsar in Accra, which ultimately led to a permanent position.
Today, Clara supports herself and her family with her decent wage, proving that with opportunity and perseverance, anything is possible. Her story serves as a beacon of hope for those facing adversity, showcasing the transformative power of empowerment programs like WEE-North.
